CNOS SETTINGS FOR TYPE 2

From this main setup screen, follow this sequence

At the main menu, select STANDARD SETUP and press <enter>

At the top of the screen will be the date and time, if these are incorrect do not worry.

Ensure that the TYPE and MODE for the primary master are set to AUTO and all the others are set to NONE. (to change these use the PG UP key to scroll through the options)

Move down to Floppy disk drive A: and using the PAGE UP key to scroll through the options, select 1.44Mb 3.5".

press <escape> (top left of keyboard)

Move down to CHIPSET FEATURES SETUP and press <enter>. You will be presented with  2 columns.

Move across to the right hand column and highlight the word AUTO next to ONBOARD SERIAL PORT 1. Change it to COM 1/3f8 using the PG UP button.

Similarly, Change ONBOARD SERIAL PORT 2 to COM 2/ and the ONBOARD PRINTER PORT to DISABLED

Press <escape> to return to the main menu.

Select SAVE AND EXIT SETUP from the list and press <enter>

Press Y at the "save settings and exit" prompt and press <enter>

This will re-start your machine with all of the settings correct
